Singer and actor Hwanhee will hold a solo concert for his fans in Japan this Christmas, his agency said on Wednesday.

Hwanhee will hold a live concert-talkshow titled “HWANHEE present-LOVE in Christmas� in front of some 2,400 fans at the JCB Hall in Tokyo on December 23, BOF Entertainment said in a press release.

He will be visiting Japan for the first time in seven months after having last performed in the country as a member of his R&B duo Fly to the Sky in May.

Hwanhee, who debuted as a member of Fly to the Sky in 2003, released his first solo album in October. He also pursued an acting career, making his first appearance in 2006 MBC mini-series "Over the Rainbow".

He recently signed on with BOF, currently managing some of Korea’s top stars including Bae Yong-joon, Lee Na-young and E Ji-ah. BOF will be in charge of his acting career while H-Entercom will manage his singing career.

BOF Inc. said on 15th that they “have signed the exclusive contract with Hwan-Hee� and added that “for more professional and intensive support, we have agreed to have strategic alliance with H-Entercom.� In the future, BOF will support Hwan-Hee’s appearances on dramas, movies, commercials and his press relations while H-Entercom will be in charge of his albums.

Korean singer and actor Hwanhee has successfully wrapped up his first solo concert in Japan, according to a press release by his agency BOF Entertainment on Thursday.

The concert, titled "HWANHEE presents-LOVE in Christmas", was held at Tokyo's JCB Hall on December 23 and attended by some 2,000 fans.

Hwanhee performed tracks from his recent solo album as well as past hits including "Even Though My Heart Breaks" and "My Person", which were featured as soundtracks for Korean TV dramas. The singer also talked about his new contract with agency BOF and his aspirations for acting during the concert.

The 27-year-old star, who debuted as a member of pop duo Fly to the Sky in 2003, released his first solo album "H Soul" in October. He also pursued an acting career, making his first appearance in 2006 MBC mini-series "Over the Rainbow".

Hwanhee, a former member of Korean R&B duo Fly to the Sky, has taken an abrupt break from work on his debut album due to health problems.

The singer made his solo debut in October with the release of the songs “Because I Missed Your Heart� and “Bring it Back.�

H Entercom, Hwanhee’s managing agency, reported on Tuesday that “Hwanhee has been having problems with his vocal cords and has been receiving treatment for the past three weeks. Doctors recommended that he take a break.�

K-pop star Hwanhee wrapped up promotional activities for his solo album due to an abrupt onset of health problems involving his vocal chords, his management agency announced Tuesday.

The 27-year-old, who is known as a member of the R&B duo Fly to the Sky, began experiencing discomfort in October while promoting ``Because I Missed Your Heart.'' Following the advice of a doctor, he stopped singing and promotional activities.

``He started receiving medical treatment three weeks ago for cold symptoms and other problems involving his vocal chords. He was busy with a tight working schedule, including TV appearances and other engagements, but in the meantime he will take some time to focus on recovering,'' said his agency.

Hwanhee hosted a live concert and talk show Dec. 23 in Japan's JCB Hall and continued promoting ``Bring It Back'' in Korea. During his break, he plans to consider participating in casting calls for TV soaps and movies, and prepare for a new album.

Singer Hwan Hee held an inauguration ceremony for his first official fan club in Japan and had a pleasant time with fans.






He held an exclusive live concert -- 'HWANHEE presents-LOVE in Christmas' -- in Tokyo at the end of last year, and this time he held the ceremony entitled “H SOUL Hajimari (beginning)� with fans in Nagano Sun Plaza in Tokyo on April 27. He shared his feelings of excitement and happiness with his fans by starting the fan club. Prior to the ceremony, he spoke about his plans in the press conference, saying, “I have sung for ten years as a singer and from now on, I want to compete with Japanese singers.�

He opened the ceremony by singing the songs “Late Confession“ and “Drunken Truth.� Also, Bae Yong Joon’s personal trainer Im Jong Pil, who is well known as "JP" in Japan, attended the ceremony as a special guest and helped Hwan Hee demonstrate exercises to fans.

Hwan Hee said, “My second album will be released by the end of May or at least by June, and I also have plans to participate in recording the OST for a drama which will air in Japan as well. These days, I am preparing and practicing acting because I will appear in a war movie around this summer.�

Keyeast Entertainment, the agency heading the ex-member of Fly To The Sky, announced on August 9th that the singer met with his fans from Japan on the 8th at a cafe. This was held to thank his fans in the neighboring country who have been immensely supporting his second mini album H-Hour with his title song "...While Doing". Korean singer and actor Hwanhee will join actors Bae Yong-joon and Kim Hyun-joong for a Japanese project in December.

A press release from KEYEAST Friday announced that Hwanhee will take part in the first series of the "Miso Project," set up by Japan's Digital Adventure TV (DATV), titled "Message! to Asia" which will take place at the Tokyo Dome on December 14.

The "Miso Project," which aims to help the future of children in Asia, is a contribution-based philanthropy project which with the help of non-profit organization KnK (Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi), they will donate money to underprivileged children in Cambodia and the Philippines.

"Message! to Asia" will feature a theme song written by famed Japanese producer Komuro Tetsuya as well as appearances by Japanese singer GACKT, Vanness Wu and opening performances by The Boss and SHU-I.

"Hwanhee has participated in various concerts to help support charities and he decided to join the 'Miso Project' after hearing about the cause," an official from KEYEAST was quoted as saying.

Hwanhee of duo Fly to the Sky will release his first solo album Friday.

The 29-year-old made his debut in 1999 along with Brian in Fly to the Sky, to become one of K-pop foremost R&B artists for more than a decade. The self-titled album Hwanhee・is the singer first recording since he began performing solo two years ago. It features sad R&B tune Hugeul geotman gata・(I Feel Like I Going to Die) as the title track.

Hwanhee has so far showcased songs featuring fast rhythms. But as this is his first studio album he has returned to his original roots that have been much loved by the public,・his agency said.

The album release was not without its trials and errors. The first batch of 20,000 orders had to be destroyed because the songs needed to be re-mastered and remixed.

There was a lot of financial risk involved but we made the decision in order to provide fans the best-quality album possible,・said the agency.

Hwanhee fans have given him plenty of support.

One financed advertisements for the vocalist album to be plastered on the side of 40 buses on 30 different routes. The incident was much talked about among netizens.

The advertisement was possible through the avid support of one fan, and we were very surprised and grateful with the gift, worth 50 million won,・said the agency.

An official from H-entercom told 10Asia over the phone that Hwanhee will play the role of ROMI in the upcoming movie "Star (translated title)" though the release date has not been finalized.

He continued to explain that "Star" is a love story which circles around ROMI who is a popular singer in Asia.

"We believe that Hwanhee will be able to take on the role since he has experience in acting on the small screen."

H-entercom said that Hwanhee will serve his two-year-mandatory military duty as a public service worker for 23 months after receiving four weeks of training at the Nonsan military camp in the South Chungcheong Province starting next week.

H-entercom then added that Hwanhee will meet with his fans over the weekend, the last time ahead of his leaving for the military, by holding a fan meeting in Seoul on Sunday.

"I've worked hard at my career for more than ten years and I thank you for your love...... I'll come back as a more mature and real man," Hwanhee wrote on his fan website the same day.

K-pop is losing another talented male...for at least two years.

Hwanhee, former member of Fly To The Sky, will be starting up his mandatory military service at 1 PM on October 27th. He will check into the training facility in Nonsan of South Chungcheong Province for a four week session. He will then serve as a public service worker for the next two years. He was sentenced with this physically less demanding duty because of a regularly dislocated shoulder. Wanting to serve as an active duty soldier, he had continued to receive treatment for his shoulder, but in the end end, he was no eligible.

Hwanhee's agency revealed that the singer-turned-actor will be holding a brief meeting with his fans and the press on this day before check-in.
