Jang, Ko tie knot

A mega-wattage celebrity couple has been born, after national heartthrob Jang Dong-gun and actress Ko So-young tied the knot Sunday.

Jang and Ko, both 38, wed at Shilla Hotel in a private ceremony where only 500 family, relatives and friends were invited. High-profile guests included movie stars Lee Byung-hun, Jung Woo-sung and Kwon Sang-woo and his wife Son Tae-young.

The couple appeared before the press for a short photo session. Scores of reporters and fans -- including over 200 from Japan -- were also seen lining up to get a glimpse of their favorite stars hours ahead of the event at the hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.

``(Public) attention was at times pleasant and other times burdensome, but today I am only thankful,'' said the groom. ``I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet, but personally it would be nice to have a daughter who looks like Ko So-young.'' Ko is already three months pregnant, Jang's management agency AM Entertainment has said.

``Thank you. We will try our best to have a happy life,'' added Ko.

Lee O-yong, former culture minister and renowned author, officiated at the marriage. He is the father of Lee Sng-moo, who directed Jang's Hollywood debut piece ``The Warrior's Way.'' The two will honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia and live in a villa in Heukseok-dong, Seoul.

The two met on the set of the 1998 film ``Love Wind, Love Song'' and became friends. They made headlines last fall when they admitted that they had been dating since 2007.

In June, the Jang will start his next film project, ``D-Day.'' Meanwhile ``The Warrior's Way,'' due for release this summer, co-stars Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush and was produced by Barrie Osborne, who is known for ``Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.''

Dubbed the Korean answer to Brangelina, the nation’s best-looking couple - actor Jang Dong-gun and actress Ko So-young - tied the knot yesterday afternoon at Hotel Shilla in central Seoul.

The private ceremony began at 5 p.m. As 550 invited celebrities and friends gathered to congratulate the couple, more than 1,000 international and local fans and 300 journalists swarmed the hotel to take pictures of “Jang-Ko,� the nickname bestowed by their fans after the paparazzi dubbed Hollywood bigshots Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, “Brangelina.�

Cameras flashed like lightning bugs when Jang and Ko appeared holding hands at a press conference at 2:30 p.m. in front of the hotel’s Yeong Bin Gwan guesthouse.

“The day before the wedding we were saying that it still doesn’t feel real that we’re actually getting married today,� Jang told the media before the ceremony.

“But standing here makes me feel like I’m getting married, and I feel nervous at the same time.�

Ko wore an Oscar de la Renta gown by Soyoo, and Jang wore a Tom Ford tuxedo that cost more than 20 million won ($18,066), according to the Ilgan Sports newspaper.

The total cost of the wedding, including the couple’s Chopard wedding rings, was estimated at 178 million won.

Jang and Ko first met in 1999 when they co-starred in the movie “Love Wind, Love Song� and became friends.

The couple, both of whom are 38 years old, announced in November that they had been dating for two years.

Ko is four months pregnant.

“We went to a hospital a few days ago and we were told our baby is healthy,� Jang said.

“We don’t know whether the baby is a girl or a boy, but I hope the baby will be a beautiful daughter that resembles Ko So-young,� he said, smiling brightly.

Former Culture Minister Lee O-young officiated the couple’s wedding and actor Park Jung-hoon served as the M.C. Lee is the father of director Lee Sngmoo, who helmed “The Warrior’s Way,� starring Jang and American actress Kate Bosworth. The film is expected to land in movie theaters in the United States and Korea this fall.

Jang-Ko will leave today for Bali, Indonesia, where they will spend their honeymoon.

"We were grateful for the interest from fans, although there were times when the pressure was getting too much," Jang said. "But at least for today, we are very grateful. People say you get really nervous when you walk down the isle, and the whole wedding experience starts to sink in. We went to the hospital a few days ago, and the baby is healthy. We don't know yet whether it will be a boy or a girl, but personally, I hope it is a girl resembling So-young." Ko said, "I feel great today. We'll have a great life together."

The wedding itself was private, and some 70 bodyguards were on duty at the wedding hall. World-renowned florist Jeff Leatham was flown to Korea to oversee the arrangements, and Hotel Shilla senior vice president Lee Boo-jin, who is friends with Ko, directed the overall flower decoration. Former culture minister Lee O-young officiated at the wedding. Jang met the respected scholar through his son, Lee Sang-moo, who directed Jang's latest film "The Warrior's Way." Actor Park Joong-hoon hosted the event with singer Shin Seung-hoon singing the congratulatory song.

The couple spent the night at the hotel and set off on a five-day honeymoon in Bali, Indonesia. They will live in a villa in Heukseok-dong, Seoul.

在新羅酒店舉行了奢侈的婚禮後，兩人在新婚旅行地也選擇了最高級的服務。張東健和高素榮將入住的寶嘉麗度假村是巴裏島內最高級的度假村，兩人預定了該度假村中最昂貴的寶嘉麗別墅。

寶嘉麗別墅每日的費用是6000~1萬美元（相當於670~1100萬韓元），面積達1300平方米的這幢別墅由設有3個卧室和吧台的大型客廳、大型餐廳、家庭劇院和擁有最高科技設備的廚房構成。這裏還有寬敞的陽台和長達20米的游泳池等設施。

一名巴釐島旅行社的相關人士稱：“因為將迎來5月假期的旅游旺季，別的度假村都已被預定了，但寶嘉麗別墅由於價格太高還空著。主要是中東的富豪們度假用的客房。â€�

▲张东健、高素荣 / 体育朝鲜最近，高素荣在评选“最佳婚纱â€�的一项问卷调查中，遭到零票之辱。本月2日刚刚步入婚姻殿堂的高素荣，在有关“未婚先孕大腕女明星中，谁的婚纱最美丽？â€�和“谁的婚纱最能衬托自身魅力？â€�的两项问卷调查中，竟一票未得。

自2日至4日，《体育朝鲜》和婚庆店DUOWED针对143名婚礼策划人实施了问卷调查。从调查时间来看，刚好是高素荣婚礼之后，对高素荣相对有利。但结果却出乎意料。

金南珠的婚纱在2005年当时极为出挑。她通过这身Vera Wang设计的超低胸性感婚纱，果敢打破“新娘要自重â€�这一传统偏见。不仅如此，把陌生的国外名牌婚纱大众化，金南珠可谓起到了重要作用。也正因为如此，她的那身婚纱经过时间的洗礼，却仍记忆犹新，受到大家的追捧。

相反，高素荣虽然是公认的演艺界顶级时尚达人，但是她所穿的设计师奥斯卡-德拉伦塔(Oscar De La Renta)的婚纱，却被认为是辜负了粉丝的期待。接受问卷调查的婚礼策划人可惜地说：“过多的花朵装饰显得太繁乱，再加上发型，总体给人过尤不及之感，好像是要去跳弗拉明戈舞一样，没有展现出高素荣特有的既干练又雍荣华贵的魅力。
